Omni-Channel Social Media Strategist - Freelance

Remote (Los Angeles, CA)

About the Position

Laurel and Grey is a social-forward digital marketing agency passionate about promoting and protecting the brands and individuals we work with. Founded in 2017 by agency veteran Katy Rutkin, our services include strategy and planning, content creation, paid media, platform management, influencer marketing, and more. Our clients include brands in food and beverage, beauty, education technology, B2B, CPG, healthcare, consumer electronics, and more. 


Laurel and Grey seeks a dynamic and results-oriented Omni-Channel Social Media Strategist to join our team. This hybrid role requires a deep understanding of both organic and paid social media landscapes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive social media strategies, building strong client relationships, and driving business growth.


While this position is fully remote, we will prioritize candidates who reside in or near Los Angeles. A maximum of 40 hours per month (~10 hours per week) is required. 


Responsibilities include:


  • Develop and execute annual social media strategies aligned with client business objectives
  • Conceptualize and implement influencer marketing programs to increase brand awareness and engagement
  • Ideate and develop innovative social media campaigns across various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
  • Manage paid social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, ad creation, audience targeting and segmentation, and optimization recommendations
  • Analyze social media performance metrics and provide actionable insights to improve ROI
  • Maintain knowledge of each platform's best practices and optimization strategies, including evolving formats and content types
  • Stay current on social media trends and leverage them to increase performance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Contribute to new business development efforts through social media and other marketing channels
  • Attend weekly status meetings with Laurel and Grey clients via Zoom
  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to client-facing emails


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in social media marketing, including both organic and paid strategies
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media campaigns
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with social media advertising platforms (Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, etc.)


*Hourly compensation based on experience and qualifications.
